Team Talk: Meet Melissa!
Welcome to Team Talk, our series where we chat with the incredible people that help make Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin such a special and important place for the youth in our community. Today we’re connecting with Melissa M., our Accounting Manager. Melissa began her Boys & Girls Clubs career as a Program Coordinator on the Matanzas Elementary campus. (Her little brother was attending the Club at the time and let her know about an open position!) A year later, she moved into an Admin Assistant role before eventually landing in her current position on the Finance Team.
Let’s get to know Melissa!
1) How long have you worked for Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin?
Almost 5 1/2 years! I’ve worked as a Program Coordinator, Admin Assistant, Admin Coordinator, and now an Accounting Manager.
2) Describe your job in 1-2 sentences in your own words.
I help keep the money train run on the right tracks.

I love going to concerts and I really enjoy going on nature walks and hikes with my loved ones.

First concert I ever went to was The Go-Go’s at the Concord Pavilion. My Dad took my sisters and me. It was so much fun! I would have to say my favorite concert by far was seeing Luke Bryan at Shoreline Amphitheater. I love me some country music.
6) What do enjoy about living in Sonoma County?
The wine! And all the beauty it has to offer.
7) What did you love about being a kid?
Going to Disneyland and going ice skating. My Mom was a professional ice skater for Walt Disney on Ice, so we would always go ice skating as a family.

9) What is an ability you wish you had?
I wish I had the ability to end homelessness.
