Team Talk: Meet Jenny!

Welcome to Team Talk, our new series where we chat with the incredible people that help make Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin such a special and important place for the youth in our community. Today we’re connecting with Jenny M., one of our longtime Program Directors in northern Sonoma County.

Let’s get to know Jenny!

1) How long have you worked for Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin?

I’ve been with this organization since August 2012. I’ve worked at the Healdsburg Club, the Foss Creek Club, the Cloverdale Club, and my longest stint has been at the Geyserville Club as the Director from 2014 – 2020.

2) Describe your job in 1-2 sentences in your own words.

Empowering and inspiring Members to be their best selves now … and in the future!

3) What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy the creativity: writing programs, planning fun Club events, and collaborating with others on Club projects. I also like that there is never a dull moment when it comes to the Boys & Girls Club - something is always happening! This year I have enjoyed reconnecting with Members I worked with at the Healdsburg Club in 2012 and 2013 who are now attending the Healdsburg Distance Learning Club as teenagers.

4) What's a fun fact about you many people may not know?

I archive the history of tiles on the weekend for the Tile Heritage Foundation. For a fun field trip, check out the tiled staircases of San Francisco. The staircase at the top of California Street, steps from the Legion of Honor, is especially gorgeous!

5) What did you love about being a kid?

I loved the freedom of being a kid: reading books, playing board games, hanging out with my family, and those long summer evenings that seemed to go on forever!

6) I am happiest when...

I am happiest when I get to eat delicious food while hanging out with my friends and family. I’ve really missed that this past year!
