The Burgundy Challenge: Pinot and Chardonnay from Two Great Wine Regions

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were made famous in France’s Burgundy appellation centuries ago. Here on the North Coast, thanks to the Pacific Ocean, these two “noble” grapes produce stunning wines as well. For this challenge, you’ll first go behind-the-scenes at a working winery with award-winning winemaker Dan Fitzgerald of DANIEL wines, just steps from Healdsburg Plaza. After punch downs and barrel tasting, you’ll take the short drive to Nous Deux Vineyards, home of DANIEL co-owners, Honore Comfort and Chris Fitzgerald (Dan’s dad). Here you’ll compare and contrast chardonnay and pinot noir from leading Burgundy producers side by side with DANIEL’s latest release, all 90+ point wines. We’ll discover the similarities and differences between wine regions while you sample an array of Chris’s artisanal breads, French and California cheeses and charcuterie that complement these award-winning wines from both sides of the Atlantic. It all takes place at the premiere Grand Cru Custom Crush facility where the wine is made. It's not every day you get six winemakers in the room together! Winemakers will be pouring exclusive wines that won't be featured at Healdsburg Crush on Sunday. This event is limited to 24 guests and will be your chance to hang out in the winery with the winemakers, hear their stories, ask questions, and get to know them in a unique and fun setting.
