Team Talk: Meet Carson!

Welcome to Team Talk, our series where we chat with the incredible people that help make Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin such a special and important place for the youth in our community. Today we’re connecting with Carson, our Vice President of Finance.

Let’s get to know Carson!

1) How long have you worked for Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin?

Since August 2020.

2) Describe your job in 1-2 sentences in your own words.

I manage the daily accounting, prepare financial forecasts, help to develop financial plans, assess and help create budgets of our departments, as well as facilitate audit activities.

3) What do you enjoy most about your job?

I very much enjoy numbers. I love using them to plan, project, then track and adjust as operations run - I especially enjoy that the operations that the numbers I run serve such an important need in our community.

4) What do you like to do when you're not working?

I love to spend time with my family - we enjoy day trips to San Francisco for the park, zoo, or a baseball game, or weekend trips to Disneyland or longer trips to explore new cities.

5) What's a fun fact about you many people may not know?

I really enjoy baking.

6) Yum! What are your favorite things to bake?

Croissants and cookies.

7) What was your childhood dream job?

I wanted to be a professional soccer player.

8) What did you love about being a kid?

I loved going outside to play and that imagination could take you anywhere.

10) What is an ability you wish you had?

I wish I could speak multiple languages.
