A Summer of Impact: Our 2024 Summer Camp Highlights

From exciting STEM activities and creative art projects to exhilarating sports programs and educational field trips—every day at Summer Camp was packed with discovery, excitement, and fun. Here’s a look at how we made it a summer to remember—and a summer that matters!

Creative Arts & Sports Leagues: Building Skills & Friendships

Our theme weeks were a highlight, each offering a unique blend of art, sports, and social activities. For Color Craze Week, Campers expressed their creativity through painting and slime-making, and got their heart pumping with obstacle courses, culminating in a vibrant color run that left everyone smiling. During Going Green Week, Campers learned about environmental conservation and built skills to protect our planet, culminating in trips to the beach and aquarium.

Learning Collaboration & Communication Through Teamwork

The Master Builder Week challenged Campers to create masterpieces in various mediums, from clay and canvas art to LEGO crafts. Meanwhile, our Summer Sports Camps ensured that physical fitness was a key part of their routine, helping them stay active and develop teamwork skills as well as good sportsmanship.

I love Camp so much! Look at all my new friends.

Sparking Creativity & Innovation with STEM Exploration

Our STEM programs engaged campers in nearly 600 hours of hands-on activities across all Summer Camp sites. At the Summer Light Lab, kids became electrical engineers and artists, creating glowing posters and illuminated art that merged science with creativity. The Cardboard Creator Workshop had campers crafting everything from personalized STEM shelves to fantastical crowns, while the Clay Creator Program allowed them to model living things with a focus on biological concepts like aposematism.

This program is the best! Are we doing it again tomorrow?

Field Trips: Fostering Education & Expanding Horizons

Field trips were integral to our Camp experience, offering kids a chance to explore beyond their own neighborhoods. Visits to iconic locations like the Jelly Belly Factory and San Francisco Zoo provided interactive learning and new adventures. Middle schoolers enjoyed special trips to the San Francisco Giants game, allowing them a once-in-a-lifetime experience to meet their sports heroes and expand their worlds beyond their wildest dreams.

Woah! Is that really the Golden Gate Bridge?! Why isn’t it golden?

Learning & Growing Through New Adventures

Field trips to the California Academy of Sciences and explorations at Armstrong Woods and Doran Beach, enriched their understanding of science and nature, turning abstract concepts into real-world experiences. These activities not only sparked curiosity and adventure, but also reinforced Academic Success.

Making Memories to Last a Lifetime

Our Camps weren’t just about learning; they were about creating lasting memories. From the joy of sliding down water slides and water relays in Splash Zone Theme Week to the wonder of exploring space in the OUTTA This World Theme Week where kids learn about the stars, planets, and more. Campers forged new friendships and developed valuable social and emotional skills. The weekly Fun Friday activities, like the Cardboard Armor Water Battle, were eagerly anticipated highlights that brought weekly themes to life in an exciting way.

I didn’t know Summer Camp could be THIS much fun.
