5,267 Gifts Wrapped, Delivered To Sonoma-Marin Families In Need
SONOMA AND MARIN COUNTIES, CA – Just in time for the holidays, more than 5,200 donated gifts were delivered to families most in need of cheer. The gifts were made possible by the "extraordinary generosity of over 250 corporate, community and individual donors," said Jennifer Weiss, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs Of Sonoma-Marin.
More than 250 volunteers also helped Boys & Girls Clubs' staff wrap 5,267 donated items in preparation for delivery to families in 12 communities across Sonoma and Marin counties.
Children and their parents not only received much-needed gifts such as warm clothes, coats, blankets and shoes, but games, toys and other gifts they'll be excited to unwrap, Weiss said.
"It is so heartwarming when we hear all the stories of donors who know only family members' age and interests, and then put in so much time, thoughtfulness, and love into choosing a truly special gift for them," Weiss said.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin annually serves more than 10,000 youth in the communities of Cloverdale, Geyserville, Healdsburg, Guerneville, Monte Rio, Sebastopol, Windsor, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Petaluma and Marin City.
