Boys & Girls Clubs Reopen

On Wednesday, May 13th, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin welcomed ten Cloverdale kids back for life-enhancing programs. Shuttered since March 17th, the Clubs have been closed in accordance with the County of Sonoma’s shelter-in-place ordinance. This limited access is for children of families working in businesses deemed essential by the County Health Officer.

“We are so excited to see our kids, if only in a limited capacity,” said Dana McCune, Vice President of Youth Impact. “Now, more than ever, families need reliable programs that help their kids to grow.”

In normal operations, the Club serves more than 10,000 kids at more than 40 Clubs. The Cloverdale Club welcomes over 350 kids with smiles each year. The Club provides more than 200 trauma-informed programs designed to help youth achieve academic success, develop good character, and make healthy life choices, even in times of crisis.

“We provide services to the kids who need us the most, when they need us the most.” said Chief Executive Officer, Jennifer Weiss, “If our youth are supported during times of trauma, we can help build resiliency which helps them reach their full potential as adults.”

The Cloverdale Clubhouse will adhere to all COVID-19 guidance & standards. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided and utilized in accordance with County protocols. If you are back to work and interested in enrolling at the Club during this time, please call Vanessa Solano at (707) 919-0536 or by email vsolano@bgcsonoma-marin.org. (Vanessa habla Español.)
