For 19 years, our community’s generosity has brightened the holidays for local families through our Annual Holiday Gift Drive.
This year, more than 300 Club Families and 1,100+ individuals need your help to give the gift of cheer. Every gift helps make an impact – big and small – for families in need.
Ways to support this holiday:
Adopt a Club Family
When you adopt an entire family this year, you ensure no one goes without. We have letters from families that share their specific needs and wishes.
Provide Gift Cards
A gift card brings greater dignity to our families during the holidays. It provides the joy and pride that comes from choosing a special gift for their child, cooking a holiday meal, celebrating with family, and so much more!
Make a Direct Donation
Make a monetary gift and we will purchase gift cards for Club Families on your behalf.
Mateo, a bright 5th grader, loves playing soccer and helping his younger sisters, Isabella and Camila, with their homework. His parents, Maria and Carlos, work long hours to keep their family stable, often juggling multiple jobs to cover rent and bills. Despite their hard work, the holidays are a struggle. Gift cards to Target, Walmart, or Safeway will help create a warm and joyful Christmas morning filled with laughter and love.

Lucia, a caring 3rd grader, and her energetic sister Ana, a 1st grader, live with their mother, Marisol. Since their father left, Marisol has worked tirelessly to provide for her girls. Lucia and Ana love making crafts at the Club and baking cookies when their mom has a rare day off. Gift cards to Target, Walmart, or Grocery Outlet will help bring relief and joy to this small but strong family during the holidays.

Q: Why did you move from toys to gift cards?
A: Families know their children best. Gift cards allow parents and caregivers to choose what their kids will truly love — the right size, color, or even a special item they’ve been wishing for. It transforms a moment of charity into a moment of empowerment.
Q: Doesn’t shopping for toys feel more festive for donors?
A: Absolutely — we know many of you have loved picking out gifts over the years. But the real magic of the holidays comes from connection and dignity. When families get to shop for their own children, they experience the same joy we all feel when giving to the people we love. That’s the spirit we want to share.
Q: How does this approach help families?
A: Gift cards allow families to shop locally, often buying clothing, essentials, or meaningful treats together. It removes the risk of duplication or mismatched gifts — and restores a sense of choice and normalcy during what can be a stressful time.
Q: How can I help?
A: It’s simple — donate gift cards from major retailers (Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.) in increments of $25 or $50, or make a monetary donation and we’ll purchase them for you.
Every card, every dollar, and every act of kindness ensures that families can celebrate with dignity, joy, and choice.
Thank you for continuing to make the holidays brighter — not just through gifts, but through compassion.
Q: Can I deliver the gift cards personally?
A: We love that you want to connect with our families directly. However, to protect their privacy and to help them celebrate the holiday with dignity, we keep Club family details private.
Q: I want to participate, but don’t want to adopt an entire family. Is that ok?
A: Absolutely! Feel free to make a donation to our holiday gift drive or purchase gift cards from Walmart, Target, Safeway, or FoodMaxx in any amount. We will make sure they be included in a family’s holiday.
Q: When do I need to turn in the gift cards I’ve collected?
A: We’d like to have all gift cards received in our office by December 8th at 1 PM. Our offices are located at 14oo N. Dutton Ave #24 in Santa Rosa and are open between 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday for deliveries. If you need to arrange another time, please email Sarah Ramos at sramos@bgcsonoma-marin.org.
